Special Needs Cheer Team – “Cheer Friends”
Cheer Friends is a competitive cheer team for special needs athletes. This team gives those with physical and cognitive disabilities the opportunity to shine as a member of a team. Our special needs cheerleaders will not only benefit from the improvement of their fine and gross motor skills but will also enjoy the thrill of performing in front of a crowd. We pride ourselves on choreographing a routine that these athletes are able to perform by themselves on the competition mat showcasing their personal talents. We strive to push each cheerleader past her current capabilities and help her to reach heights she never knew was possible. Tri-County prides itself on having a wonderful gym culture that is very welcoming to athletes of all kinds. Our coaches are also USASF certified and credentialed, trained and certified in Special Needs Cheer, have over 25 years of combined special needs coaching experience, as well as certified in seizures, CPR, and first aide.
Our special needs cheer team, Cheer Friends, is a very unique cheer team. These athletes work collectively to learn a cheerleading routine to compete at local competitions. This is a one hour long class and works on tumbling, dance skills, stunting, and overall coordination. This team competes in local cheerleading competitions.
