Progression Through the Program

We have determined the most appropriate class length for your child depending on his/her age and class level.  As your child moves through the program, his/her class length will increase.  Parent-tot and pre-school classes are 45 minutes long; pre-beginner and beginner classes are 1 hour; intermediate and advanced classes are 1 1/2 hours.

Towards the end of each session, we will perform skill assessments which will allow us to place your child in the most appropriate level for the next session.  Strength, flexibility, and skill level will all play a part in the progression of each child.  Please understand that it could take several full sessions before your child is ready to move to the next level - this is a very normal and acceptable rate of progression!

Ultimately, if your child continues with gymnastics, he/she will reach our advanced non-competitive class or Elites/Pre-Team/Team.  Pre-Team gymnasts have aspirations to compete with the Team.  Team gymnasts learn USA Gymnastics routines and compete in gymnastics meets throughout the state.  Elites, Pre-Team, and Team are not part of our recreational program .
